Together with the advancement of science and technology, technological innovations grew along with it, resulting to the emergence of new equipment and gadgets. Learner progression in Science and Technology is developed through experiencing and building knowledge in a range of related ideas, concepts and principles, while embedding practical and wider skills to define a problem, explore ideas, produce solutions and justify choices.
Already the CTBTO’s first major scientific conference titled “Synergies with Science, 1996-2006 and Beyond” from 31 August to 1 September 2006 attracted several hundred participants, among them scientists from internationally renowned universities and scientific institutions, representatives of diplomatic missions and members of the press.
1: The use of science in daily life has helped us a good deal in solving problems, dealing with the maintenance of health, production and preservation of food, construction of houses and providing communication and trans-portational (related to transport) facilities.
The Professional Development team works with ASTC members to bring informal science learning opportunities to the field through communities of practice (CoPs), webinars, project websites, workshops, the ASTC Annual Conference, minigrant programs, and more.
